Your INSTRUCTOR
Cat Doyle (she/her) has been a full-time yoga teacher since 2011, and started teaching yin in 2014. In the years since, she’s expanded to offer retreats, teacher trainings, coaching, energy medicine treatments, and essential oil wellness.
Light-hearted, humorous, and community focused, Cat creates a welcoming, warm space to learn, grow, and practice.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Throughout training, we’ll move through different readings, exercises, and practices that help you connect with yin yoga in a more meaningful way. We’ll also build the skills you need to guide others through a yin practice, whether that’s a collection of friends and family or a studio community.
We’ll cover:
The foundations of yin yoga, including its history, philosophy, and core principles
How to approach yin from:
An Ayurvedic perspective
A Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, including the Five Elements Theory and meridian theory
An anatomical perspective, focusing on yin tissues (fascia/connective tissue), ligaments, tendons, joints, and bones
The key yin postures and their variations
Sequencing for yin yoga, including:
Entering/exiting poses
Counter poses
How long to hold different poses for
Using props
Pacing, language, and cueing
Modifications and practices for different populations and physiological needs, like injuries or pregnancy
Adding essential oils aromatherapy to your yin practice

REQUIREMENTS
- Attend all sessions, including the online session on October 16th
- Complete all homework and required reading
- Participate in a small group practicum, where you’ll lead a 30-45 minute yin yoga practice
