There is so much chaos happening all around us and I just wanted to take a moment to remind you to keep your hearts open during these troubling times.
When things happen that are completely out of our control it is easy to start reacting from a place of fear. When we react from fear we are feeding off of the stories that we are creating in our minds about a situation. It then festers and tightens us up and closes us off to the world. When what we really need most in this time is to lead from a place of love and compassion.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and anxious here are some things you can do:
-Ground yourself. Find a comfortable position whether that is sitting down /laying on your back or stomach and close your eyes.
-Rest your hands on your body and find your breath.
-Be with your feelings and what is coming up for you. Witness the thoughts, acknowledge it and then let it go.
-Notice if your feelings are from actual events or the stories that your mind is creating around the event.
Remember that this is temporary.
It will not always be like this.
Be kind to yourself and to others.
